Dive Into Our Workshops

Are you interested in our Seventh-Wave® programme, but just want a bit more detail about what you will learn in each workshop? Then boy, do I have news for you.

Here, we will release a few more details about what you or your team will gain from each individual workshop we offer.

Of course, we can alter these workshops to include whatever your biggest concerns are – we pride ourselves on personalising our workshops to fit your team exactly, no matter the issue. The following explanations are of the classic Seventh-Wave® programme, served with no bells and whistles. We think it includes everything you need to become a great leader, but if you think you need more, just let us know and we will make that happen.

If it’s not already clear from the headline, this workshop is all about learning who you are, both professionally and personally. Most of us have a fair grasp on how we work best, who we get on with, and what kind of personality we have, however it can be difficult to solidify this when asked to provide specific details. We believe that it is vital to fully understand what makes you tick before you can even dream of realising your full potential when working with others.

There is always room for improvement in any aspect of life, and work is no different. If there was an option to work more effectively on your projects and with your colleagues, everyone would take it – and we know how to get you there. Knowing how best to communicate with others and express yourself can avoid misunderstandings, negativity, and unnecessary tensions.

Getting your communication method wrong can make your role much harder than it should be, and this workshop will help you identify all the quirks and niche points of your personality in order to avoid this happening. Once you can spot these in yourself, it becomes easier to spot them in others, and therefore allow you to adjust your own communication style when talking to someone with different preferences than you. The result? Peace and harmony among you and your colleagues. Using the widely recognised Insights Discovery model, and Patrick Lencioni’s ‘5 Dysfunctions of a Team’, you will be able to understand yourself completely by the end of the workshop, and make a start on understanding each of your colleagues to the same extent. We want to make teamwork an easy, natural, and fun thing to do in your workplace, and this workshop will lay the foundation for this.

In our second workshop, we will help you overcome any obstacles, both mental and physical, that you may face in your journey to becoming a great leader. Now you have an excellent grasp on your own working styles and the styles of those around you (thanks, workshop one), the challenge becomes understanding and dismissing any blockers to success that you may be worried about.

One of our favourite models used in this workshop is the Circle of Concern, a model adapted from Stephen R. Covey’s The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People. We will go through this model alongside you, and help you to identify and understand what is and what is not within your control. You will quickly learn that everything not under your control can be quickly dismissed – goodbye, worrying about the pandemic!

We will discuss Bruce Tuckman, Robert Dilts, and more, and by the end of the day we are certain that you will have the tools required to overcome any challenge you may face during your new leadership role. What’s more, we are certain that you will be completely confident in utilising these tools with ease, making your job a whole lot easier.

Now you are well equipped to face common leadership challenges, we aim to help you develop your own personal leadership brand, allowing you to set your own guiding principles and ensuring your actions are always full of integrity, no matter the situation.

An important aspect of this workshop is learning to identify how different people learn or respond to leadership. We will lead you through Peter Honey and Alan Mumford’s ‘Learning Style Theory’, using plenty of break-out groups to allow you and your fellow trainees to deduce for yourselves what the different learning styles may be. Alongside this, you will learn how best to deal with anyone and everyone who comes into your managerial care. This will ensure you will never use a counterproductive method when attempting to communicate with someone. Even if you are trying to help, using the opposite method of communication someone requires can often lead to more harm than good.

Once you understand which method to employ depending on the situation or person, we will end the workshop with a masterclass in coaching. Each of our Seventh-Wave® Accredited Trainers are extremely knowledgeable when it comes to coaching, and having your trainer give you the ins and outs of this subject can be a priceless experience. You will learn what exactly coaching is, how much it can help the coachee, and the methods you should use to ensure the best results every time.

Our fourth workshop is all about getting the most out of yourself and your day. Throughout this, we will provide you with an abundance of time management models which you can choose from. We understand that figuring out how best to manage your time does not have a one-size-fits-all solution, therefore we have chosen some of our favourites to present to our attendees.

From the ‘Big Rocks’ model to ‘Monkey Management’, this workshop will go into detail on how to employ each of these methods. Once you have all the information, you can easily identify which would work best for you. Maybe you’ve heard of them and already use them, or maybe you haven’t, but either way you can gain vital new knowledge to either use for yourself, or pass on to a struggling employee.

As a leader, knowing and understanding a wide range of time management methods is invaluable. As you will have learned from Workshop One, each member of your team has a different personality and way of communicating, and the same goes for managing time. The method you identify as most effective for avoiding procrastination may not be effective for your colleague. However, by the end of this workshop you will have all the tools and knowledge to give helpful and effectual advice to get the most out of your team – no matter who needs it.

In the Seventh-Wave® programme’s penultimate workshop, the objective is to perfect the art of making use of your network and influencing others, be they your peers, employees, or superiors. We will begin the day with an exercise aimed to show just how many individuals are already in your network, and use this to explain how to communicate with them effectively, no matter your familiarity level.

Once you have uncovered the vast network around you, we will take you through various methods of influencing them. Your trainer will help you discover how to motivate and engage anyone, and as a team you and your fellow trainees will work towards finding effective methods of motivating a team in a wide array of situations. Such methods can be easily referred to in the future, and will create a strong and unflinching leader out of you.

The second half of the workshop will be focused on developing excellent presentation skills in the lead up to your end-of-programme presentation in the final workshop. We understand that many people feel nervous about giving presentations, so we always make sure to set everyone at ease by giving you expansive and applicable advice on how to prepare.

The final workshop will mainly consist of your and your fellow attendees’ presentations. We will recap everything we have gone over throughout the programme, and put all of this newfound knowledge together by presenting what you have learned to your SLT.

You will find that everything seems to fall into place here, and if it was not already clear to you, this presentation will truly exemplify how much you have learned. We have seen some amazing presentations throughout leading these workshops, and be they tear-jerkingly emotional or simply hilarious, they always impress us – and the Senior Leadership Team.

Many of you will be surprised at what you have achieved throughout the course of these workshops, but we never are. From the start, we know that each and every one of our attendees has enormous potential to be an amazing leader – you just need a bit of encouragement. By the end of this final workshop, you will discover that leading is not as scary as it first seems, and we leave you with the knowledge and tools you need to drive yourself forwards in ways you never could have dreamed.

And the results….
