Accreditation Training: behind-the-scenes

Our recent accreditation training saw a group of amazing trainers earn their Seventh-Wave® Accredited Trainer titles. You’ve read about the day itself here, but now, prepare yourself for a rare behind-the-scenes look at how we built these two days. ‘Accreditation Training’, the sequel. You really are lucky.

‘‘Accreditation Training’, the sequel.’

Our goal with these days was to equip our trainers with all the knowledge necessary to run a great Seventh-Wave® workshop. It was important to us that each and every one of them walked away from the training with the confidence and ability to help their clients get the best our of their talent. So, where did we start? We collected together all the information we give to our clients, and packed it all into one easy-to-transport document. Everything the trainers need to know in one place. A Seventh-Wave® Bible, if you will. With plenty of space for each trainer to add their own personal touches to the programme, the document allowed us to convey everything we have learned about training talent. With this, the formalities were taken care of. But we are not the type of trainers to just read out of a book for two days. It’s just not our style. We needed something more, some pizzazz, some fun.

It’s a difficult balance to strike: giving out six workshops’ worth of information in just two days while also allowing room for interactivity, team bonding, and fun activities is certainly a challenge. One thing we tell our clients is that we remember 10% of what we hear, 20% of what we read, and a whopping 70% of what we discuss with others, so it is vital for us that we allow ample time for discussion in our training sessions – and this one was no different. We added in various interactive aspects to the content, as well as some break-out discussion and on-brand games. It’s not a Seventh-Wave® training day without some games.

‘Content? Check. Document? Check. Pizzazz? Check.’

Content? Check. Document? Check. Pizzazz? Check. We had a group of trainers ready to become accredited, and a venue ready to host us. There were just two things left: create an amazing presentation to aid with training, and locate an obscene amount of hand sanitiser. It just so happens that we are great at creating Keynotes (we even threw in a couple of transitions, someone stop us), and the hotel kindly gifted us with enough hand sanitiser to disinfect a small village.

Just like that, the accreditation days were born. All we had to do then was hope it all went smoothly when it came to it – and lucky for us, it did.
